Decorative Panels
We offer a range of ornate wall and ceiling panels which can be completely face mounted and in most cases can be set into the background with additional mouldings.
For example, decorative panels that are rounded or have spherical features can be geometrically spaced around any of our ceiling roses.
Gyproc Cornice & Coving
Perfect for creating distinctive rooms or enhancing the design of rooms in an typical modern home.
Gyproc is a gypsum-based product, similar to plasterboard, so a very hardwearing and cost-effective alternative to an ornamental cornice.
Cornices & Crown Mouldings
We can supply and fix over one hundred different cornices, covering a wide selection of styles to complement any room or decor. From beautiful and historic Georgian and Victorian designs to more modern styles, there is something available to suit every style and budget. Many of our cornices can be further enriched with a frieze plate and complemented by a central Ceiling Rose.
With a knowledgeable design team, South West Coving is happy to help and advise customers to satisfy their design needs. For owners of properties where an existing cornice has been damaged or sections removed, we are also specialists in replicating, repairing and making good any existing decorative plasterwork.
Ceiling Roses & Medallions
Plain or decorative Ceiling Roses help to transform ceilings in all types of property, from public buildings to modern homes. Our beautifully-crafted ceiling roses are available in a wide range of styles and sizes, from extremely decorative to plain spins.
They can transform the ceiling in any type of property and can be used in conjunction with panel mouldings to great effect. Our ceiling roses are specially adapted to complement any light fitting including a chandelier, lantern or simple lampshade.
We also specialise in creating individually-crafted ceiling roses, which can be based on any ornamental details including a cornice already in-situ.
Wall Friezes & Ceiling Plates
These beautifully crafted fibrous plaster frieze plates can be designed to complement a wide range of cornices and may be used to add an extra special touch to any room. In some cases frieze plates can also be invaluable in helping to break-up large expanses of wall or ceiling. With a wide range of over fifty decorative frieze plates, we can provide a huge choice of options.
Our wide range of plates can also be used in conjunction with cornices (see above), with most of them also being able to be used as either frieze (wall) or ceiling plates.
Jacobean Strapwork Ceilings
We are frequently commissioned to recreate bespoke, new ceilings based on Tudor or Jacobean originals.
At the perimeter of the ceiling we can, if necessary, provide a plain cornice to pick-up on the rib detail of the panels. If desired we can also provide a frieze plate beneath the cornice, creating a stunning, decorative ceiling and upper wall area. (Beams can also be incorporated to create coffered ceilings).
Furthermore, because our Ornamental Strapwork Ceilings come in all shapes and sizes and from a wide range of architectural styles, we regularly offer advice to both architects and designers to create an accurate and effective design which aids simple construction of what is sometimes considered a complicated ceiling.
Decorative & Ornamental Panel Mouldings
These are ideal for any walls or ceilings that wish to create a simple yet classical style of balance to any room.
The panel mouldings and dado rails can be used in a number of ways to complement any cornice and applied to either ceilings or walls. Corners for panel mouldings can be formed either by mitering or in some cases by a quadrant or decorative block.
Fire Surrounds
In addition to ceiling decorations, we can also supply and fix custom-made fire surrounds to compliment the plaster ceilings in your rooms.
Our skilled team of designers and master craftsmen are able to work from specific requirements or a design brief to create beautiful ornamental fire surrounds perfect for any room.
